I am Amir, and I came from a long distance, from Iran. I have been living in the Netherlands since 2018 and working at Maastricht University as a machine learning researcher. I enjoy traveling and exploring new cities and villages. I am social, and communicating gives me a lot of energy. Playing squash and hiking are my hobbies. Going on road trips is something that I love as it allows me to visit several places and make new friends.

At Maastricht University, I worked on an AI dataset that tracks the location of ships over time in the logistics chain process at the Port of Rotterdam. I have been actively working on data and machine learning topics such as deep neural networks, multi-agent systems, data analytics, and more.

Afterwards, I started working as a data consultant with a startup to do some AI projects for local companies, such as anonymizing Dutch names in doctor prescriptions using Hugging Face libraries with NLP techniques, and advising different industries. After this short period, I started my career journey at Voordeeluitjes, where I worked as a data scientist/data analyst. My tasks included communicating with stakeholders, working with Airflow to centralize multiple data sources into a data warehouse, working with the data warehouse, developing AI-based solutions, creating dashboards with Tableau, and writing SQL queries.
